Alabama String Art

Love Alabama? Love crafts? This craft event will use wood, nails, & string to create beautiful representations of Alabama that you will be proud to hang on your wall.


Forgotten Alabama

Date: Sat, June 8
Time:  2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

If you haven’t checked out the Forgotten Alabama books yet, you’re missing out! Glenn Wills travels around the state of Alabama, taking pictures of abandoned places & things. He’ll be coming to the Oneonta Public Library to do a presentation showing some of his work, talking about his journey, and the history he’s discovered along the way.


Jeopardy in Space!

Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Answer questions about space, Alabama, and of course questions featuring some of our favorite sci-fi books, shows, and movies! Participants will receive raffle tickets for each correctly answered question.


Trebuchet Challenge

Date: Tue, June 18
Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

From the Space Age travel back to medieval times when castles and fortresses stood as protectors against any attackers who threatened their lands. One of the strongest weapons against such fortifications were trebuchets, siege engines capable of bringing down the highest walls. The challenge will be to design your own trebuchet and see whose miniature trebuchet can throw the farthest!


Star Power Skype Interview

Date: Sat, June 22
Time: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Michael Terracianno, the author of the popular webcomic Star Power, will be giving a Skype interview at the Oneonta Public Library. What is Star Power? Star Power is a superhero comic set in space with thrilling fights, memorable characters, and a great storyline. Michael will be talking about being a web content creator, the inspiration behind Star Power, and more! While you’re waiting for the interview, check out the comics at the library or online at


Mario Party

Time: 6 pm – 8 pm

Friends and foes are invited to a friendly video game competition where participants can battle it out on the big screen while playing Super Mario Party! Thanks to IdaGamer, everyone will get to enjoy taking turns as teams compete against each other to make it to the finish line and win extra tickets to enter into our raffle drawing. “The Martian” Movie Screening

“Alabama Moon” Movie Screening

Have you watched Alabama Moon yet? After the unexpected death of his survivalist father, an eleven-year-old boy raised in the Alabama wilderness must learn how to make a home in the modern world.
