2020 Friends of the Locust Fork River Art and Photo Contest

The Friends of the Locust Fork River logo of a heron in a circle.The 2020 Friends of the Locust Fork River Art and Photo Contest theme is Celebrating Farms and Woodlands of the Locust Fork Watershed and is all about showcasing the land surrounding the rive.  The competition will feature twelve categories for teens and adults. This year’s photo categories are:

  • Birds, Raptors, and Sun-Basking Creatures (e.g., birds, hawks, ospreys, eagles, turtles, frogs, snakes, lizards, salamanders, fish, etc.)
  • Bugs & Butterflies
  • Farm Buildings. 
  • Pastures and Crops
  • Farm Animals
  • Farm Life (e.g., people working, celebrating, cooking at a farm, etc.)
  • Friends of the Locust Fork River Events
  • Furry Creatures (e.g., deer, foxes, beavers, otters, rabbits, etc.)
  • Habitats and Seasons (e.g., covered bridges, outdoor scenes, landscapes, clouds, skies, sunsets, etc.)
  • Locust Fork River or its Tributaries, Lakes, and Waterfalls
  • People and/or Pets in Nature

Participation

To participate in the Friends of the Locust Fork River Art and Photo Contest:

  • Read the Photo or the Art Contest Rules
  • Register your name and registration on FLFR.com and take note of the transaction ID number
  • Submit your entries between April 1 and June 30
The 2019-2020 OTELCO Phone book

The winner of the Habitats and Seasons category will be on the front of this year’s OTELCO phone directory.

Judging and Awards

Each category will be judged by a local business, who will choose a winner to receive a $100 Business’ Choice Award. OTELCO is proud to be judging the Habitats and Seasons category. The winner of this category will be featured on OTELCO’s 2020-2021 phone directory.

Judges will make decisions based on originality, technical excellence, outstanding representations of subject, composition, and story. There will also be a first, second, and third place overall teen and adult winner, who will receive prizes ranging from $25-$200.
