Dino Fest 2016 is going to be pretty special this year! On Friday September 16th starting at 5 pm at Dufresne Park, the All Town Community Event will begin with the FIREWORKS postponed from the rainy Charter Days. The event will include entertainment, music and food, and there will be a $5.00 per car parking fee.
On Saturday September 17th, on the Common (235 State Street in Granby) the 7th Annual Steeple Run/Walk begins at 9 am. The 4 mile run/walk benefits the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Sign up before August 31st, and get a free Wayne Gagnon Art Work “Stomp Out Hunger“ Wick-away collectable shirt. (Registration is $25.00 for adults and 12 and under $15.00, School Team rates are available). Prizes to be given to 1st place finishers in each age group as well as best times for Male and Female runners.
Later on Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm is the DINO FEST 2016, “The Dinosaur Arts, Crafts, and Music Festival”. The festival is estimated to bring in 1200+ people during the one-day celebration of the town’s heritage and talent. This year, along with a fantastic Art and Writing Exhibit, visit more than 40 Crafters with must-have items for sale. Expect numerous contests & games including Pie Eating Contest, Apple Pie Baking Contest, Tug of War, Sack Race, and more for the young and young-at-heart. Antique & Classic cars and tractors will be on display and all of the town’s local organizations will be featured.
Rusty Sounds Presents music from Lonesome Brothers, Ryan Walsh, and Pearl Street’s “Battle of the Bands” winners, Paper City Exile and West Summit Band.
If that’s not enough to keep you busy and entertained, there is also a horse show sponsored by Lucky Horse Farm, and, at 5:30 pm, the Granby Firefighters’ Association Roast Beef Supper.

Deals and Steals!Edit date and time
While you’re enjoying the Dino Fest events, why not visit Deals and Steals on Saturday from 8 am – 3 pm at Kellogg Hall (rear), at 250 State St. Granby, Ma. Proceeds benefit the Granby Preservation Society and the renovation of historic Kellogg Hall.
And……Just in time for Fall cleaning, BSA Venture Scouts is holding a Savers Fund Drive, and collecting gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, bed and bath items, and small household items (less than 18 inches). Items can be dropped off at the tent at the Preservation Society’s tag sale on September 17th. If you would like to drop off items prior to the tag sale, please call 413-315-0200 to schedule a time.

It’s clean-up time again at the Granby Highway Department at 15 Crescent Street. Bring your bulky waste on Saturday, October 1st between 9 am and noon.
