Gray’s End of Summer Fest – A Harvest Gathering

Join the fun on Saturday, Aug. 27th at Pennell Park, 24 Main St., in Gray for this new town festival! The day will kick-off at 9:00 am with lots of free events:and participation from numerous local organizations.

Participating local organizations include: American Legion Post 86, Friends of  Maine Wildlife Park, Gray Historical Society, G-NG Adult Education, G-NG ATV Club, G-NG Booster’s Club, G-NG Destination Imagination, G-NG HS Brass Quintet, G-NG Lion’s Club, G-NG Optimist Club, G-NG HS Project Graduation, Gray Snowolves, Maine Narrow Gauge Rail Road, New Gloucester Public Library, and from Cumberland County, representatives from Master Gardener’s program and Casco Bay CAN.

Free, fun-filled activities include: Live music by Living Highway, GNG Brass Quintet, Farmington & Humphrey, and Ton Def. Kid’s ¼ mile Fun Run, a Diaper Derby; Team Challenge (3-person team contests), Horse-drawn wagon rides, Watermelon Eating Contests, Blue Ribbon Tomato Judging and Oddest Vegetable Contest, Dunk Tank, Children’s Activity Tent, Lawn Games, and special guest appearances by alpacas and goats.  Food, crafts and school/community fundraisers will run from noon to 3pm. Mini-presentations on: “Troubleshoot your Garden”, “Canning 101” and “Keeping Backyard Chickens”. Gray’s End of Summer Fest is being held in conjunction with the Community Give-Away and the Youth Sports Equipment Swap, which start at 8am.

There is ample of off-site parking at 33 Main St. in the grassy field just north of town hall.

There is still room for additional local organizations, groups, volunteers, and businesses to participate at Gray’s End of Summer Fest – A Harvest Gathering. This new festival is made possible from the financial support of local sponsors: The Liberty Family Foundation, Enercon Technologies, Gray Community Economic Development Committee, Maine Solar Solutions, and Patriot Dental.
