OTELCO, a telecommunications provider serving areas of Maine, Alabama, Massachusetts, Missouri, Vermont, and West Virginia, is constructing FTTP in portions of an additional 12 communities in Maine. In addition to a recent announcement of a 240-mile build serving nearly 9,200 locations in Gorham, Windham, Gray and New Gloucester, ME, the company has now announced plans to construct an additional 455 +/- miles of fiber to serve another 43,000 +/- locations by early 2022. OTELCO is expanding its team and pleased to welcome a number of new hires in its Maine and Alabama offices. Liza Quinn joins OTELCO as a Product Manager in New Gloucester, ME. Quinn’s background is in the energy and telecommunications sectors, including roles in finance, marketing, product management, network delivery, and consulting. OTELCO Expanding Its Lightwave Fiber Internet Zone in Shoreham

OTELCO, a telecommunications provider serving areas of Maine, Alabama, Massachusetts, Missouri, Vermont, and West Virginia, is upgrading its network in the Shoreham Telephone service area. This fiber broadband initiative includes the construction of approximately 23 miles of Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) network in portions of several communities, resulting in the availability of symmetrical Gigabit Internet to approximately 450 locations. Three new Technical Support Technicians have been hired in the Bangor, ME office: Dwayne Fournier worked previously as a Technical Support Representative for Cox Communications and a Technical Support Coordinator for Verizon Wireless. He attended Gibbs College in Rhode Island and attained his PC Networking and Support Certificate as well as CompTIA A+ Certification.
