OTT Communications Announces Corporate Rebranding, Changes Name to OTELCO

OTT Communications, a telecommunications provider and division of OTELCO, Inc., has announced a corporate name change to OTELCO, effectively immediately. The new name and logo is the result of a comprehensive rebranding effort that unifies the OTELCO family of companies under one corporate identity: OTELCO.

OTT Communications has been operating as a division of OTELCO, Inc., a publicly traded company with 220+ employees that provides wireline telecommunications services in Alabama, Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, Vermont and West Virginia.  OTELCO’s services include local and long distance telephone, digital high-speed data lines, transport services, network access, cable television and other related services.

Customers in New England markets will receive the same products and services, now under the OTELCO name. Customers in Alabama, Missouri and West Virginia (markets that have operated under the OTELCO name for some time) will be introduced to the new corporate logo. Additionally, the company has developed a new tagline: “Technology. Tradition. Together.® 

According to Trevor Jones, Director of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service, “OTELCO has been serving rural communities for more than a century. We want our customers, employees, and communities to know that the future of OTELCO is rooted in our tradition of making emerging technology, like high-speed broadband and business solutions, available to communities that might otherwise be left behind. We’re about bringing businesses, families or communities together and keeping them connected. Our new tagline is just one expression of that message.”

OTELCO CEO, Rob Souza, explained that “We’ve been one company for quite some time, and internally, we’ve been improving our operations to further unify. Across all seven locations, we have the benefit of broad operational knowledge and are able to work with team members in other states as if we’re in the same room. It’s how we brainstorm the development of new products and explore ways to continually improve our service and customer support — which are key attributes of the OTELCO brand. As the culmination of that unification effort, it was time to bring the entire family of companies under one corporate name and visual identity.”

In 2018, OTELCO will focus on bridging the digital divide in all service areas through initiatives including:

  • Building new fiber to the premise infrastructure.
  • Underwriting digital literacy training.
  • Continuing to champion Net Neutrality.
Internally, OTELCO has reorganized its management team by discipline rather than by geography. Not only does this create efficiencies, it maximizes the benefit of that pool of knowledge and expertise. In addition to the reorganization of staff, OTELCO is consolidating its billing system, order management, and other administrative functions across all footprints throughout early 2018.
