OTELCO Hosts Free Computer Classes in Shoreham, VT

As part of our commitment to bridge the digital divide through digital literacy training, OTELCO is underwriting adult education through “Computers at the Library” computer classes at Platt Memorial Library in Shoreham.

The Very, Very Basics is being offered on Monday, December 5th from 7 – 8:30 pm. This very basics class covers parts and process, mystifying computer vocabulary, basic mouse skills, and a basic understanding of safe computer usage.

Internet and Email will be offered on December 19th and January 9th and 30th from 7-8:30 pm. This class covers basic internet safety, signing up for a Gmail email account, sending, opening, and attaching files in an email, and a basic overview of what there is to do on the Internet.

Abby Adams, Librarian and Director of the Platt Memorial commented, “There’s something for everyone to learn!  OTELCO’s financial support helps us offer these computer classes totally FREE to the public!”

Adams explained that pre-registration is required and limited to 6 participants. Please call the library at 897-2647 to reserve your spot.  If none of the scheduled dates work with your schedule, please call the library anyway, staff will do its best to find a class to fit your needs.
